Bingo in Oklahoma
January 4th, 2023 by Jackson

Oklahoma has long been synonymous with Bingo. That is owing to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have provided Bingo sessions for decades. Guests from all of the neighboring states get in autos and travel to Oklahoma to wager on Bingo over the weekends.

The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act became law after a landmark decree by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year before. Since that instance, 23 of the 39 Native tribes of Oklahoma have introduced gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the gaming rules, and today run 10 casinos of their very own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling dens were built on. automated games like one armed bandits weren’t authorized, on the grounds that they’re thought to contribute to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.

In recent years, Oklahoma governing edicts has changed to allow for gigantic American Indian wagering casinos. You’ll now find Indian casinos with slots, video poker and black jack tables. Craps and roulette are still not allowed in the American Indian gambling dens as of yet, but that is just a waiting game. Nobody can determine whether having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the popularity of bingo.
